“Empowering users through value-driven enablement strategy.”
“Let’s connect.”
Look — if that’s how you talk in real life, fine. But I doubt it. And more importantly: your audience does too.
Your Brand Voice Is Not Your Resume
It’s not about sounding smart. It’s about sounding like you actually exist.
When someone reads your post, your portfolio, or your “About Me” section, they should feel like they just heard you talk — not like they just sat through a keynote they didn’t ask for.
So What Is Brand Voice, Then?
Hello, everyone! Mommy Mindi here with an update. As some of you have noticed, Bradley has not been in our videos or photos lately. So I’m here to be vulnerable and let you know what’s been going on behind the camera. What kind of mother would I be if I let you, my followers, suffer from the anxiety that comes from uncertainty?
I’m devastated to announce that sweet Bradley is no longer with us. He’s not dead! He simply is no longer representing our family. Six months ago, my husband and I agreed that Bradley would be happier with another family that better aligned with his values. It wasn’t just our decision! Bradley let us know he was ready for the transfer. As his adopted mom, I could understand that he, an autistic six-year-old, understood the difficult situation he’d placed me and his father in. Firing your child is never easy, especially when they are the only non-white child in the house.
